AIR FREIGHT DEMAND IMPROVES IN JANUARY: IATA
03/04/2010

The International Air Transport Association says the air cargo sector rebounded in January, with demand for freight climbing 28.3% from a year ago.

Air cargo volumes rose 3% from the previous month and 7% above the December 2008 low as businesses moved to restock their inventories, IATA said.

According to IATA chief executive Giovanni Bisignani, Asian carriers showed an improvement in air freight volumes and their European and North American counterparts lagged behind.
